About
Action starts with awareness. We provide philanthropic support to fact-based communication projects. Our work is predominantly in Georgia and the Carolinas, the places we’ve had the privilege of calling home.
Green South’s current priority is raising awareness about our changing climate. There is a wide gap between our scientific understanding of this issue and what the average person knows. We are working diligently to close it by informing communities in the region about climate change causes, impacts, and solutions.
Funding criteria
Proposals are evaluated based on the strength of their ideas and the capabilities of their leaders. Key questions include:
How many people can a project inform and at what cost?
Does it speak to the priorities, values and concerns of folks in our region?
Is there a well defined plan, with clear goals, metrics and an implementation timeline?
